The Barr Fight Begins

First, a timely quotation from another blog:

“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr said. “I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody … whether it’s Congress, a newspaper editorial board, or the president.”

Barr continued, “I’m gonna do what I think is right, and you know… I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.”

Here is where I got the quote I just printed:

Now here is my personal opinion …. my own personal prophecy, if you will:

We might live to see a headline in the News that says “Barr Steps Down As Attorney General.” (Or) “President Fires Attorney General.” (Or) something similar to any of those.

There is a lot of turmoil in that administration right now.

  1. Either way, if Barr shows opposition to the president, he is probably putting his job on the line … these kinds of disagreements need to be done privately … the AG is treading treacherous job security waters when he goes public with such statements.

  2. If he has “conned” the senate then there must be a lot of people in the Senate who should not be there … but I rather believe that the Senate understands he is a leader and they are proud that he is president … Your assertion implies (to me at least) that the Senate is composed of a bunch of incompetents. I am sure that was not your intent.

  3. The interview was a load of bunk. This was either a coordinated act choreographed by Barr and Trump in order to quell the rising questions over the WH interfering in a criminal case, or even more likely it was Barr desperately attempting to cover his own butt and telling Trump publicly (which is apparently the only way you can communicate with him), that he needs to be quiet if he wants Barr to keep carrying out his wishes. An “independent DOJ.” Pub-lease!🤣
