Px or Pt (Pixels Or Points)

I have consulted with some online typography experts and they told me that a font size of between 14 points and 21 points is ideal for desktop and laptop screens — The median starting point that was recommended was 16 points.

For the time being I have chosen 17 points as what I think is a reasonable average.

Points tend to be bigger than pixels and have higher “X” heights which is supposed to add a lot to readability.

Does this 17 point size that I have presented to you this morning meet your criteria for easier reading?

(This all assumes that you have set the zoom level of your screen at 100%)
