It looks to me like our leadership may have aspirations that the American people may not able to achieve. I believe that among those aspirations is the aspiration to defeat coronavirus by any means possible on an unrealistically rapid timeline —– and there is plenty of evidence to prove to my satisfaction that our medical heroes are working very hard to achieve that aim. —–
But I see some disturbing signals coming out of the White House. I think I am seeing a president who may be losing confidence in the doctors who are saying that it is too early to open the economy and I believe he is placing more value on the opinions of some medical types there who might be more loyal to his cause for opening the economy prematurely —- which appears to me to be a case for the possible/potential sidelining of people like Dr. Faucci — people who are far more cautious and careful.
I do not want to even suggest that our leadership might be more interested in reopening an economy and trying to get it back to Boom State when the death rate from this coronavirus is rising rapidly each and every day than they are in taking more time to assure the protection of more lives
The smell coming from our leadership up there in Washington suggests to me that somebody might be believing that perhaps the American people do not deserve to be healed of this coronavirus thing if they cannot or are not willing to follow the patterns or achieve the aims and aspirations of the leadership in exactly the manner the leadership proposes ….. regardless of any data or science to confirm the practicality of any such aims — or the paths to achieve them.
I think I am correct in believing that the leadership may not be showing a pattern of not wanting to accept any responsibility for any kind of failure in the handling of this response and if that is the case then I assume that the next step is to start blaming the American people for the whole thing.
What worries me most about the government’s apparent wish to accelerate the reopening of the economy in the face of the coronavirus crisis is that it might be a virtual death sentence for thousands or perhaps Millions more who would not have otherwise died had we taken the time to address this thing properly.
Only time will tell and I pray that I am wrong.
